Defenders of the Realm is a slow, heroic work for beginning band.  Written specifically with young musicians in mind, the ranges and rhythmic choices are all selected to create an epic sounding piece appropriate for musicians that are in the first or second year of playing.  This call to arms begins with a bold statement in the brass and lower woodwinds before gaining momentum and building to a faster fanfare.
